I knew John from childhood we were neighbors. We grew up together in Happy Hill (Salem). He was very friendly and handsome. He was quite but a very good playmate and friend. I remembered when I was 13ys old we were playing down the hillside, swinging on some winnies (long roots from some trees) and on my turn it broke and I fell and dislocated my knee. His younger brother (Peter) along with himself and the other boys from the neighbour hood had to carry me all the way up the hillside to my home. It was painful but quite fun having all the boys around the neighbour hood carrying me. He was a gem and a good friend. My sincere sympathy for his wife, children and family. He will always be remembered.
